The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has reportedly discovered multiple real estate assets in Egypt allegedly linked to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
The properties are said to be part of the ICPC’s ongoing investigation into financial activities during El-Rufai’s tenure as governor.
According to sources, the assets include three villas and six apartments, all located in upscale estates in Cairo, Egypt’s capital. Checks by TheCable indicate that villas in Arabilla Estate and Banafsik Estate, both in New Cairo, are valued between $1,000,000 and $1,300,000. Apartments in Cairo Festival City reportedly carry a price tag of around $500,000 each.
Sources involved in the investigation said the properties were acquired between 2021 and 2023, while El-Rufai was still governor.
The properties traced to him reportedly include:
- One villa in Arabilla Estate, 5th settlement, Cairo
- One villa in Banafsik Estate, 1st settlement, New Cairo
- One villa in Oriana II, New Cairo (near the American University)
- Four apartments in Cairo Festival City
- Two apartments in Oriana Estate, New Cairo
Naija News reports that the ICPC is investigating El-Rufai for alleged financial misappropriation during his tenure as governor of Kaduna State between 2015 and 2023.
El-Rufai has been in ICPC custody since February 18, 2026. Prior to this, he was also interrogated by the Department of State Services (DSS) over claims that the phone of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, had been tapped.
The ongoing investigations and revelations of foreign properties have intensified scrutiny of the former governor’s activities while in office.
